For her screen test, she was not willing to take an unplanned test and instead took one day to get ready. Later she was contracted for three films under the Yash Raj Films label. The role she played was that of a younger bride to the middle-aged actor (Shah Rukh Khan) in the film. The film was hit on the box office and was the second-highest-grossing movie of 2008. Anushka was in 2010's "Badmash Company" together with Shahid Kapoor Meiyang Chang, Vir Das. The film received mixed praises. Anushka was the role of a Punjabi girl of middle class in a movie named 'Band Baaja Baraat. Anushka was in the film with Ranveer. The film was an unexpected success and was praised by the critics. Anushka had completed the contract for three films with Yash Raj Films.
